Taking Care Of The Painting Job Once It’s Completed

painting services sydney

Once the painting job is done, it does not mean that everything is done. In order for you to be able to maintain the painting job - whether it is the day after or a month after the completion of the painting, there needs to be the right care so that the paint is well maintained and will keep its high quality. To help you with this, our team at Premier Painting has a few tips and tricks up our sleeves that will help maintain your painting job:

Opening Windows

Wherever the paint may be, it is important that you let some air come in and be exposed to the painted surface so that mould does not appear on the wall. Mould is generally formed when a surface is wet and without the right amount of ventilation to let the wet paint breathe, this is the type of environment mould would thrive in. This is extremely common in bathrooms when there is a lot of water exposure. So if you do not open the windows in the bathroom, mould can be formed quite quickly.

The Right Amount Of Sunlight

Much like how little ventilation can cause mould to be created; poor amount of sunlight can cause this to happen too. Without sunlight, the paint will take a lot longer to dry up meaning it will be damp for a long time. As it is damp, it is wet thus, causes mould to form. If there is no natural sunlight in the space that is painted, make sure there is a another way of allowing the paint to dry before mould appears for example, if there’s poor sunlight coming in, ensure there is enough ventilation.

Appropriate Drying Time

It’s not a good idea to touch the painted surface a few minutes after it has been done. The little timeframe does not allow the paint to dry up enough which causes patches and the paint can come off very easily. Touching it is one of the simplest ways to assess whether the paint is dry but be sure not to touch a large surface in the case it is not dried.

Cleaning

Paint can crack and fall off so when it comes to cleaning, you should be very delicate with it. The most common and highly recommended ways to clean painted surfaces is using warm water and a cloth. Abrasive cleaning products like scrubbers can cause the wall to scrape and strip the paint off of the surface.
